With this project, Mama Tierra offers financial independence to indigenous women in La Guajira, an area between Colombia and Venezuela.
Design by Coral Hernandez Coral Hernandez Finol creates the Mama Tierra designs with passion. One important source of inspiration for her designs is the living environment of the Wayuu. As an illustrator, Coral worked for brands like Betsey Johnson, Santoro London, Desigual and Zara. Her work for the fashion company Custo Barcelona led her to participate in the finest fashion collections in Madrid. In 2012, Coral won the "Roland Creative Award" in Japan in the International Latin American Competition.
Empowering Women Mama Tierra offers pre-payments and working material to indigenous women, thereby strengthening their financial independence. The focus is on women because they ensure the well-being of the family, securing its income and educating the children.
