Inspired by the women's movement
Mama Tierra supports the feminist movement and women's empowerment. This inspired designer Coral Hernandez Finol to create the Impossible is Nothing pattern. As an illustrator, Coral has worked for brands such as Betsey Johnson, Santoro London, Desigual and Zara. Her work for the fashion company Custo Barcelona led her to participate in the best fashion collections in Madrid. In 2012, Coral won the "Roland Creative Award" in the International Latin American Competition.

Made in Venezuela
The pillow case was lovingly handmade by Wayuu indigenous peoples in Venezuela. In the 1970s, the Venezuelan tapestry was very popular. From the Fira de Barcelona to the MoMa Museum in New York, the Wayuu crafts could be admired in museums all over the world. The Indigenous peoples wind the yarn on a so-called weaver's shuttle and push the thread through the fabric. This time-consuming technique went out of fashion and many artisans lost a major source of income. The MAMA TIERRA design team has now revitalized the technique and design of these tapestries and transformed them into beautiful clutches and cushion covers which enjoy great popularity.

Empowering indigenous women
MAMA TIERRA's vision is the self-determination of indigenous women. For this purpose, our organization sells accessories crafted by indigenous peoples and thereby offers  them existence-saving wages and financial independence.

100% Polyacrylic yarn, Azo dye-free, Iso-Standard 9001: 2000.
