Empowering indigenous woman!
Mama Tierra offers the women existence-saving wages and financial independence. The focus is on women because they ensure the well-being of the family, ensuring its income and educating the children. The woman is the strongest link in many indigenous societies, but this is particularly true in the Wayuu culture, as they have a matrilineal kinship structure.
Design by Amber Vittoria
Amber Vittoria is a Forbes 30 Under 30 artist working in New York. Her work focuses on portraying the beauty of women. Vittoria has collaborated with brands, such as Calida, Gucci and Instagram.
Made in Venezuela
Venezuela is after Haiti the second poorest country in South America! With your order, you are helping the Wayuu indigenous people in Venezuela to secure an income. The production of the tapestry is a good source of income for the Wayuu in Venezuela. Especially, because the indigenous people earn in Colombian pesos. Thereby, escaping the high inflation rate in Venezuela.
Material: Polyacrylic yarn 100% produced by the factory Miratex in Colombia. Azo dye-free, Iso-Standard 9001: 2000.
