Ply-splitting technique
The Wayuu call this band “Kutpera”. Traditionally, it is used as an element in the donkey saddle. Donkeys are important farm animals for the Wayuu indigenous people. The Wayuu honour their animals by decorating them with such colourful bands. Usually the men make the straps for the donkeys. The Wayuu also use the kutpera as a very resistant type of shoulder strap for their traditional bags.

Vegan!
Made of Mexican cactus leaves processed into eco-leather; whose stable leaf fibers offer an equivalent substitute for animal leather.

Material: 100% synthetic fibres (polyacrylic), azo dye-free, Iso-Standard 9001:2000. Cactus fibers.
