Sustainable handmade bag by Wayuu indigenous women in Colombia. Made of GOTS certified organic cotton.
The Maruliünaya Design
This pattern has a higher complexity than many other traditional Wayuu patterns. It can be simplified but we have chosen not to in the beautiful Maruliünaya bag. This pattern can be found engraved on the calabash container used when milking an animal.
Siira
This bag's strap was made using the time- and material-consuming ancestral Siira technique. It is intricate as it is resistant, a magnificent and lasting work of art.

Empowering indigenous
girls and women
You can save and change lives with your purchase.
Human rights activists founded Mama Tierra in 2015 to promote gender equality for indigenous women in Colombia and Venezuela while protecting Mother Earth. Thus, Mama Tierra's accessories empower not only those who wear them, but especially those who make them.
