When Design Meets Purpose: Cosalinda x Mama Tierra
In a world of fast fashion and fleeting trends, Cosalinda and Mama Tierra have come together to prove that design can be both beautiful and meaningful. This collaboration is more than a meeting of styles — it’s a shared commitment to preserving cultural heritage, empowering artisans, and creating lasting social impact.
A Collaboration Rooted in Shared Values
For Mama Tierra, working alongside Indigenous Wayuu artisans in Colombia and Venezuela is not just a mission — it’s a long-term partnership built on trust, respect, and solidarity. Our focus is on sustaining ancestral traditions while ensuring fair working conditions and stable incomes for the communities we serve.
When Cosalinda approached us with their passion for conscious design and ethical sourcing, the connection was immediate. Together, we created a collection that fuses contemporary aesthetics with centuries-old techniques — a true dialogue between past and present.
A Collection Crafted Across Borders
The collaboration includes two complementary stories:
- Three designs of crochet bags, handmade with polyacrylic yarn using traditional Wayuu techniques. These delicate pieces reflect the women’s mastery of their craft. One of the designs features wooden handles handcrafted by an artisan from Cosalinda’s network, adding a unique material fusion to the collection.
- An exclusive tapestry clutch, designed by Cosalinda and brought to life by Wayuu artisans using organic cotton yarn. What makes this clutch truly exceptional is its two-sided design: the front and back feature different, equally stunning motifs, allowing wearers to switch up their style while carrying a piece of living heritage.
Each piece in the collection connects cultures through technique, design, and intention.
Empowering Artisans and Preserving Heritage
Every item is made under fair working conditions, with artisans receiving just compensation for their craft. Beyond the designs themselves, this collaboration supports Mama Tierra’s broader mission — funding educational programs, food support, and cultural preservation in Wayuu communities.
By investing in this collection, customers also invest in a system of equity, tradition, and long-term impact.
A Model for Fashion’s Future
This partnership demonstrates that design can be a force for good — not only in how it looks, but in how it’s made, who makes it, and what it supports. It’s a reminder that behind every piece is a pair of skilled hands, a cultural legacy, and a community that deserves recognition.
We believe that real luxury is transparency, care, and intention. You can discover and shop this exclusive collection online at cosalinda.ch and in person at PKZ Women on Bahnhofstrasse 88 in Zurich. We invite you to explore it and be part of this meaningful collaboration.
